[rebel-builders] Emag failure

I am very happy with my crank sensor LSE Plasma III with the new 360 engine.
Easy to install and no issues. Still have a Slick on the left side though.
It came with a small display which gives advance in degrees, MAP, and an
extra digital tach reading. I am saving at least .5 gph over my old 320.

Hi guys I gave up on summer and changed from floats to wheels today. The
switch went really well now that I've changed all my hydraulics to push
lock fittings. I went from floats to wheels in just under 3 hours. Feeling
really proud of myself I loaded up my supervisor ( buddy the labrador
retriever ) and headed out for a short flight. Did the runup and the left
ignition failed miserably. Now I have to send it back to Emagair But I'm
considering other options. Is anyone using an electronic ignition that
works or should I just hold my nose and buy another pair of slicks?
Drew

Hi Drew
You are probably more familiar than me but cutting through all the
recent Emag chaff - I'd be comfortable flying with a repaired unit. I
would not be comfortable with one of the older unmodded units. Sounds to
me like they have fixed the magnet issue.

Push locks eh? I just picked up some air brake hose and fittings for my
floats as per your recommend. The brass fittings that came with the
floats are not really suitable for plastic tubing IMO and I wasn't
pleased with the nylon ones either. Same for the ones supplied for brake
lines. No inner thimble to prevent collapsing the tube. Of course that
was 10 years ago...

Thanks Walter I'll check it out. I really like the electronic ignition I'm
making gobs of power and burning about the same as I did with my 0-290.

[rebel-builders] Emag failure

Hi Ken I was comfortable flying with what I had. There's a very vocal few
on some of the newsgroups saying that the fix is worse than the origional
problem. I'm probably going to go with the new mod but I was curious as to
what others are doing. It sucks to have to make these choices but knowing
that a rough engine might be cured by turning an ignition off me feel better.
