Rebel Builders,
Thanks so much to Steve Sloan and Roger Hoffman for their comments and opinions
regarding the use of the Cont. IO-240B engine. This bulders site is a valuable tool!

Chris
I have close to 250 trouble free hours over the last 8 years on my IO 240 B powered Rebel with 200 hours on floats. The IO 240 B is one of the smoothest 4 cyl engines I have flown behind in the past 45 years of flying lite aircraft. I cruise at 105 mph on 4.8 to 5.0 gph.If you keep your Rebel lite and basic the IO240 B would be a great choice. What ever engine you do choose you will be flying one of the best lite aircraft around.
I would like to share with all of you what the Rebel is capable of. Last friday Dick Vanderweken and I took both of our Rebels to Lake Isabel, located in the Sky Wilderness area at 2800 feet above sealevel. We were both loaded from floor to ceiling with passengers, fishing gear gold pan equip. float tubes, rubber boats ect.
We departed in the afternoon, on calm water, with the temp at 27.5 degrees C putting the density alt at 5000 feet. Both airplanes had no problems getting off the water.

Roger Hoffman and other Builders,
Rebel #719 is ready for an engine. Would you share your opinion and experience with your new Cont 0-240B. Does the fuel injection work well and would you recommend this engine to another Rebel Builder? Thanks, Cris Tucker

Subject: [rebel-builders] Need to replace tires
With the narrow Matco rims (Model W62) I would like to go with a 700 size
tire versus an 800. Anyone got experience with the smaller tire? Any
downside?
