I have a pic of a Moose that had some damage on one of the lower corner
wraps due to a hard landing on floats that I'll forward to you Garry.
Anyone else that wants a copy send me a private email please.

Does anyone know where or if there has been a reinforcement protocol
developed for the rear float attach points
where the aircraft has sustained some damage at the attach points due to
a hard landing? Pictures? Descriptions?

Garry

Garry, the Elite has a doubler inside on the bulkheads to strengthen that
area. Take a look at the Elite fuselage manual on the MAM website. If I was
building, or had it open on mine, I would add that.

Also, someone once posted pics (couldn't find them in the archives) of an
external triangular doubler fix that goes on the outside skins to cover that
area.

I still don't have anything on mine, and check it closely after heavy rough
water landings, but so far no signs of anything bending there.

As you recall, I did the fix and took pictures as I went along. Followed Wayne's suggestion on making the hockey sticks to reinforce with the overlap vee reinforcement as suggested by Ken.
I think I still have the pictures and I recall sending some to Bob Patterson at the time to post on the site. Not sure if they go there. Bob may recall.
I'll take a look to see if they are still on the camera.

Thanks Walter. I'll check that. In think that given the external
wrinkles, I will have more to do than just reinforcing the
existing a la Elite.
