That sounds great, Ken !
Sure hope it works out - be a great solution, especially for
the 912 Rebels, being lighter, and absorbing some bumps !

Chrome plated. The tire says 4 ply good for 300 lbs at 30psi. It shows
$16. in the large catalog which is odd because they were on sale a
couple of weeks ago for $4. Your regular $6.99 makes sense. Yes it fit
in the original MAM tailwheel forks. I ran a small grindstone on a
dremel through the 6202-4 bearing to open up the hole about 2 thou to
fit the axle easier and also bolted an insert into the wheel hub to
prevent the bearing outer races from moving into the hub. A spacer on
each side of the wheel to fill the space between the fork and the wheel
to lock the bearings into the wheel. Hope it stands up OK. Nice not to
have to clean up the grease that always splattered out of the original
wheel. I'd guess almost 2 lbs lighter than the solid rubber wheel.

through a couple of them each year. Wow. Looking forward to your 6 mo.
wear/maintenance report.

Ken,
Very interesting about the wheel. Can you give us a little more detail?
Are you still using the std. MAM fork? How about a part # or URL for
the wheel? Was this one of Princess Auto's pneumatic caster wheels?
Thanks.
