The SSL server hung, which happens frequently, but I have a program that
monitors it and automatically reboots the server whenever it happens. The
hang-up this time around was a copy of notepad I had open but had not saved.
When the system tried to reboot, notepad automatically opened the "save as"
dialog box before closing this unsaved file. Windows then errored out on
the shutdown due to the open save as dialog.

Once I logged in and saved my text file, the system rebooted.
