[rebel-builders-d] Tail Weight / MAM Tailwheel / Prince Prop

Just getting caught up on latest correspondence.

I have the MAM tailwheel (with aluminum spring - reduced in thickness) and
it seems to work fine. Good ground handling and I don't need to swivel the
tailwheel by hand. I think tailspring tension is important - set so no
slack, but not much tension either. Of course, I only have 30 hours on it
!!

My tail weigh is 42 pounds on the W&B, with O-320 and a 47" pitch prince
prop. Empty weight 955. Like Drew my prop is too fine for wheels. A slow
full power climb has a very disturbing angle of attack (35+ deg).

Steve, what pitch is your prince prop? I am going to have mine re-pitched
and I can go up as far as 2" more. Anybody have a prince prop with the
right pitch for wheels and an O-320 out there?

Hi Garry
My Rebel tail wheel was 54 lbs after paint when I did my W&B. Have a 320
and Prince prop. New empty weight with paint and full interior was 990
lbs.
