Hi Garry, we have a place here in Ontario - Orillia and if you hurry you
could join us for the Eastern Ramble!!

Good luck with it - I'm sure you're looking forward to float flying.

Cheers
Jim

Alberta at Cooking Lake but with the lake level dropping 4' in the past
two years it is no longer possible.

The reasons I want to do this are straightforward. The system has not
been tested since repair and I do not want to land on an untested
arrangement. I plan to do some taxi tests and a takeoff test to ensure
the floats are satisfactory prior to actually landing on water with them.

Does anyone know where I can do this in western Canada? I know that
Nelson is feasible with difficulty - the aircraft must be moved down
about 6 feet to get to the water so it is not particularly simple to do.

It's not close, but you can do it here both at Fort Langley or Pitt Meadows.

Yes, a transponder is not required at Fort Langley. It is at Pitt Meadows.
