Might this be another of those ubiquitous brass
AIL-26 (??) bushings ??

It IS a good idea to support the outboard end of the
spade - and I recall seeing photos of the installation somewhere ...
Maybe one of the Moose builder websites, or the Archives ??
...... sorta thought it might have been a S/B ... maybe ??

I just posted a picture to area 105 Aileron where I have a blue arrow
pointing to where the aileron diagram (Chapter 8 dated 12/8/2005, page 1)
shows a bushing to be installed in the end spade rib. Yet, there is no
reference to this bushing (that I can find) in either the aileron chapter
or the wing chapter. Can anyone tell me why the diagram shows something
that isn't in the manual?

This same bushing is also shown in the 8/21/2007 manual update under the
Moose technical support page on the Murphy website. Yet, again, no
text/manual documentation otherwise references this bushing on the website
(at least that I can find).

I've heard rumors that folks have installed such a bushing in the spade
rib to help support the weight of the spade. But, again, no manual page
(other than the diagram I uploaded) documents this.

Maybe I'm simply overlooking some text buried in the manual? Anyone have
input on this question?

Thanks!

Ted
