Can you guys tell me if parts and available shops to work on the m14 are
easly available in the US. Who are you using for work/rebuilts on engines and
cylinders? What about rebuilding accessaries? (I can find 540 parts new/used
anywhere)

I beleive you can burn auto gas with the m14 is there any issues with that
and can you mix 100 LL and auto gas?

Is the resale on an Moose better with the m14 or IO 540 300 HP?

Performance is a concern when determining an engine choice. I would like to
hang amphibs some day after the wallet recovers. I will be conservative with
landing sites and don't have a need to get airborn in a few hundred feet at
gross. We will be operating out of mostly improved sites but want the
flexability to get back in the bush from time to time.

We have a need to cross Lake Michigan. How will this airplane do on floats in
an emergency landing without power. I wouldn't expect it to stay upright for
a long period but could we land safe and utilize a life raft if needed. Woud
you make the crossing or go around. Dont have float experience so what do
you think

540 or m14 What do you all think. budget is always a concern, I beleive the
540 will give the performance i'm looking for but the other issues mentioned
and certinly value is where I need advise.

Best,
Mike
