[rebel-builders]Fuel tank vent

Post by Dale Fultz » Sun Feb 19, 2012 4:37 pm

An alternative to drilling the fuel cap since it needs removed everytime to
refuel. I drilled and riveted a 1/8 aluminum pipe fitting in the highest
point of the tank and made replacable J tubes threaded out of aluminum
tubing. There is the possibility of parking on a hill with a cross vent an
loosing fuel if it were not planned out real well. One other thing my fuel
caps were not vented from MAM when at the paint shop the caps had to be
loosened the aluminum made noise when raising the temp in the paint room but
no noise from tanks when loosened and not leak at caps when preasure testing
the tanks JMHO. Dale SR-033 N269DF
