I'm not clear on how to attach these bumpers. A backing plate is made and

No, no nutplates or metal inbedded into my bumpers like you would expect

and rivets didn't hold so I used 1" tapered sheet metal screws and a

There's an adhesive that I found at the local automotive store that's used
to install windshields that I used to "glue" my amphib bumpers on. Worked
GREAT. Will look up the exact name of it and post same after I get home

I also have the new hollow bumpers. Stephane at Murphy said to just
Proseal them on. I'm skeptical that this will hold them over time.
Haven't decided how to attach them yet. There is not very much surface
area around the lip.

Sounds like you have those "new" hollow rubber moulded bumpers... not the
old multi-layered foam on a wood back board like most have.

I couldn't make heads or tails out of them on how MAM expected them to be
mounted... and no manual update... so I just stole the old set off the
damaged floats I have and put them on the new set I built to speed the
process.
