Leading Edge Protection

A friend was helping us turn our wing and asked whether anyone fills the L E
void in front of the spar with low expanding foam. It seems this would help
a little in an area that is susceptible to dent and dings. Anyone thought
of this? Done it? CW

I can think of three reasons not to fill them with foam
#1 unless you know the exact expansion rate of the foam
you could easily bend things out of shape.
#2 This really would not prevent denting because the foam
would give behind the aluminum.
#3 Foam will absorb water.
