Hi Jean I can measure mine this morning while I'm at the plane. I can tell
you it's 2 peices about 4" x4" 0ne under each of the bearing brackets.
Sounds like it's time to start rivetting the floor and corner wraps. If you
wait until after your instrument panel is all wired up to install the
controls your back will really appreciate it.

Hello
Chapter 20...
Manual say: .040" re-enforcing plate will need to be made to attach control
bases
to cage on the cut carrythrought version... What size?!? Is it a strip
side-to-
side of the fuselage? I am not sure with the diagram in the manual...
Cabin and fuselage floor are both made and ready to be riveted. Inside
corner wrap
of the fuselage area made and ready to be riveted. Inside corner wrap in the
cabin area not made yet. Manual say to rivet the control base to the
floor... So
I imagine it is time now to finish floor/corner wrap?!?
As usual thanks for your support!

Hi Jean: One other tip from what Drew has added and that is to not rivet the
R.H. side control bracket down but rather screw it down. I have , in the
past tapped the cross tubes for #10-32 cap screws and you could use nut
plates in the area of half tubes. This allows you to remove the column when
ever you need to. Also it is also a good idea to not rivet the deck panel
above the instrument panel until all the panel wiring installation is
complete. That will also save your back. Just my 2 cents worth. - Bob J

[rebel-builders] some questions....
Hi Jean, my plates are 4" x 5" and the only thing I did differently was that
I moved my control columns back 1" so that I could catch the front
carry-through with the front rivets on the bearing bracket.(it also gave me
a little more clearance from the instrument panel).
As far as the instrument panel was concerned - I put the dash and windshield
in last - after I had done all the wiring, from the top, on my panel.
Cheers

Hi again Jean Like Jim says 4"x5" I left mine centred but moving them back
a little sounds like a good idea. I did use much heavier stock than .040"
though it looks to be about 1/8"thick.
