JHDM wheel/brake

Hello
If I understand (without any information from the manual), the brake caliper is
fix to the solid aluminium axel with 4 AN4-10A, 8 washer AN960-416 and 4 nuts AN365-
428. The problem I have, is that no matter if I put the bolt or the nut from the
inside, the "head" is not flat, it hurt the "machined radius" of the axel. The
only solution I could "see" (and some day I am blind) is to grind one side of a
washer to "clear" the radius.
Other solution? Mine look rustic...
