The aluminium tail spring I have with kit (#747R) is 1-5/8" wide but for the Murphy tail wheel. Hope can help

It should actually be an inch and 3/4 (1.75") wide....unless something has
changed.

I don't know what the Murphy tail wheel is. I do have a Maule tail wheel
that I took off my Kitfox years ago when I replaced it with a Scott 3200 - a
really good deal at the time.
The Maule (model # SFSA-1-4)uses a 1 1/4" spring.
