Planning Ahead

A couple of things to discuss.

First, having built my fin twice now and finally understanding what I need
to do to build it correctly (3rd time's a charm), I have determined that I
can use my ultra-creased skins. I did use up a few extra parts getting to
this point that I'll have to replace. After emailing with MAM and getting
their freight quote I've figured out that I'll save money if I can get some
of this locally (duh!). I need one rear and front spar, the ones used on
the fin, and stabs, and also some of the rib material, st-31. I'm thinking
one of the aircraft stores here should have the same channel, right? I need
2 leading edges as well and that may be a MAM item. What do you think? As
far as Canada goes, will there be a problem if I just have my friend in
Vancouver pick the parts up and mail them to me? Cheaper? MAM says they
have to go freight because they're 6' long. It looks like the Canadian
postal service has a means for this length.

Here's the other thing: As I get ready to close the fin I remembered that
it needs a light and so there's a need to run wire for this. This opens up
a whole new line of thinking I have no experience with. I'm sure there are
required lights (I plan on night flying) in the tail section and also wings,
fuselage, etc. If anyone has thoughts, advice on this, I'd sure love to
hear it. Also, any neat ideas to plan now before I get too far in. I can
read the FAA regs on required lights but I thought there might be
recommended ones or options, etc.

Thanks for the time. Things are going well and I'm thinking I should be
