I am not familiar with a source of a clay like chromate compound at present. However, I was told some years ago by a friend that ran the MCAS Cherry point repair station that there was a modeling clay consistency chromate compound for use as corrosion control under removable plates on carrier planes that he called dum-dum.

Years ago at Ford we used a sealer called dum dum to seal the fuel tank
flanges to the floor pan and in a couple of other applications. It came
in round strips, about 3/8" dia and also in about 1/8". from memory it
had a Ford spec something like MG32A I think. There was a pumpable
version used around the backlite and quarter window weatherstrips.

Hi Garry
This might be similar to an underwater swimming pool repair goo that I
seem to recall seeing on a professional pool supply web site. I've not
seen it in any retail pool supply though.

Thanks Ken. There must be 1E5 swimming pools in Phx. I will give them a
go and see if I can come up with dum-dum.
