Spring gear/Tail spring

Can anyone out there,that has installed a spring gear tell me? Do you have to cut out the webs in the SG13and 14? or can I leave them just the way they are? Is there structural factors hear.

As for the tail spring, does the short end of the bend go forward? I believe it does! but doesn't seem to lay flat on the TS2. Also how much of the thickness to you trim off? This thing is huge!

One more thing, I seem to have cut the tapper on the forward FUS-5 carrythrough to far back and I don't have enough meat for the forward landing gear bolts? If I order stock from Aircraft Spruce, would it be 6061T6? I think that's right.
