I don't have a list but I have bought a bunch of the tools off ebay.

Yes, ebay has lots of good used aviation tools. It was actually educational
for me to browse there. I found tools I didn't know existed, and some of
them became indispensable.
You will never have enough tools, so forget about having your shop all set
up before you start. You really don't need much to get started, and you
learn quickly what you need to continue. The archives here have tool lists.

I'd add a Vixen File to the list. I've found it immensely valuable in
straightening metal edges out and in tapering edges on all sorts of
doublers. Get the file and then simply mount it on a scrap block of wood to
make holding it and using it easier. I'd put the Vixen File in my "top 10"
list for sure.

Bear with me - I'm still trying to find my original tool list.
I'll post it sooooooon ....

The Bush Caddy tool list has lots of stuff you don't need for
a Rebel - there are lots of solid rivets in a Caddy ....

Things are finally settling down a bit here, after Rambling
away the summer, and starting plans for next year's Ramble ....

The Rebel Rouser is gone, but not forgotten ! This list,
and email, pretty much ended the need for a printed publication.
We also stopped printing "Rebel Ramblings", our newsletter,
- it was a LOT of work !!!

Hello Craig

Look at the basic tool kit from Murphy. It is a good starting point. Add
a 1/4" air drill (much smaller than 3/8",I have 2 and they will never be for
sale....) from CP Tools +/- $100.00. A 90 degree angle die grinder with
small scothbrite disk...for deburring A little press drill (import one at
$49.99 are ok). A small portable sheet metal bender is also helpful
($35.00). In the basit kit you have 250 cleecos of 3/32'' and 1/8'... 400
are not to much (for the wings). Off set aviation snips are much more
useful than strait ones... Balance will come when you will visit the Sun'fun
or Oshkosh..

Craig,

In addition to the other suggestions, I'd highly recommend a bench
sander. A small 6" disc bench sander can obtained for $60-70, though
bigger is better. A 9" or larger would be nice when sanding the ends of
the struts and other large edges, among other examples. The bench sander
is invaluable for getting parts down to final size, various deburring
operations, rounding corners, etc. I probably use the bench sander more
than the drill press and band saw combined.

A Dremel tool is very useful, especially with the small 5/8" round drum
sander for working on elevator tube holes (just a medium low RPM works
best), etc. The small cutting wheels are handy for fiberglass finish work.
