Long archives

Just thought I'd ask everyone's opinion on this... I took a look at the
archives today, and we're already up to almost 1100 messages this year (in
the main "murphy-rebel" list). This means the index files you look through
the archives with (sort by date, thread, subject, author) are already over
100K. This is large enough to start getting pretty slow over a dial-up
connection. If anyone is noticing that looking through the archives is
becoming cumbersome, I can split 2000 into 2 halves. This wont effect
searches at all, since a search will check all lists, all years/segments.

Please let me know if this sounds like something you'd like to see done.
