Split Flap/Ailerons Kit

My rebel kit has the split flaps/ailerons kit with it. I have heard one
opinion that the rebel flies better with just flaperons. I'm planning on an
0320 engine and floats. Anyone else have opinions/stories? Also, I've
heard that the bungee landing gear works better than the newer spring-steel
style. Anyone?? It might be a non issue because I plan on building floats
asap. Thanks for the time, Craig
