[rebel-builders] Murphy Float Kits

Posted: Sun Feb 19, 2012 12:16 pm
by John Fletcher
Mike,
I talked with Jeff McMurr [Murphy Air] at Oshkosh concerning Amphib floats.
He directed me to Keith Kinden of Montana Float Co. who was there at the
show helping out in the Murphy booth, in fact he flew out the Moose
demonstrator. Keith quoted the amphib kit at $32k US. If you want to
contact Keith here's his information:

They have a nice revamped web site, but it lacks so much useful

Thanks for the feedback. One question, are the Montana Amphib Floats a

Kieth, can I pay with "badly out of date" US dollars?

Ok, what are the current prices for Moose/Super Rebel Amphib floats, both kit version and ready to fly.

Plus, I understand that you have a CFI on staff that can provide the instruction needed to get a "float plane" endorsement?

Do you also know of a designated examiner in your area that does the check ride?

I heard your whole program up there is top knotch.

These floats were a 3500 amphib kit #3 the first two went to the
Philippines. All the pieces were prebent, mounting kit and allot of solid
riveting..I have been working with Montana on them since Dec/06.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the feedback. One question, are the Montana Amphib Floats a
kit, or come assembled? I was under the assumption they were fully
assembled.

Thanks
-Mike
Mike I am just finishing off Montana's 3500 for my Moose. The kit is top
notch with no building problems .The plans are straight forward and very
Moose friendly with there mounting plans as well.

I thought I remember reading somewhere that Murphy was either making or
was going to come out with an amphib float kit for the Moose.

Does anyone have any information on this? I could not find anything on
their website about pricing or options for it, or for anything for that
matter.....

They have a nice revamped web site, but it lacks so much useful
information.....

Thanks
-Mike Kraus
