As mine wear or as the brackets wear, I replace them with the bronze
bushings that Aircraft Spruce sells. U have to shorten them a bit as they
are too long. They are about .0015 too much in diameter. I just managed to
get one in the bottom bracket on the rudder after 70 hrs of flying. Had it
apart for painting and so far, that was the only one that has worn the
bracket a bit.

This is the steel bushing in the flap / aileron brass pivot bushing. I
think they are 1/4" ID and 3/8" OD and about 9/16" long. Anyone in the
USA have some of these they would part with? I need at least one but would
take three. Let me know how much you want for them including cheapest
(USPS OK) to Sumter,South Carolina 29154.
Thanks,
Ralph Baker

I have a bronze bushing in my lower rudder aluminum bracket but the
steel AIL-26 is still there so that the pivot bolt can be torqued tight.

The AIL-26 parts can also be cut from aircraft steel tubing if someone
has a lathe or otherwise squares the end. No sign of rust on mine but I
keep them well oiled.

If you still want them I have a few pieces and I have a small length of the
tubing that you can make more from. Mine are plain steel. Also, I had to
custom fit the length of the bushings to minimize play in the control
surfaces. I simply used a belt sander and squared the ends as best I could.
Worked fine. I don't believe that a lathe is required.

Mike,
Thanks but I already ordered from MAM. The new ones are stainless steel and
down here in the humid south my original carbon steel pieces are rusted so I
am going to replace them all. Thanks for the reply.
