[rebel-builders] Push lock fittings

Hi Drew
Thanks for the update. When you remove the fitting it might be
interesting to see if the o-ring shows any sign of deterioration from
the oil. I don't know if you can actually remove the o-ring easily.
AFAIK either BUNA or viton is fine with automatic transmission fluid.
I would have guessed that the parflex and the DOT approved tubing is
essentially the same material. When I researched plastic tubing, I
concluded that everything except teflon would likely gradually become
brittle with oil or gasolene in it.

Hi Guy's Here's the prommised push loc fitting report. I changed the
fitting on my right float brake caliper a couple weeks ago. With the old
parflex line that has been on the floats since they were new and is now
very stiff I couldn't get the fitting to seal at all. leaked like crazy
right from the start. So I changed the tubing for some of the DOT aproved
stuff. Then I had a seal no leaks no problems. Flew around for a week and a
half without spilling a drop Then yesterday I went into the hangar and
found a big puddle under my right wheel. I don't know what caused the
fitting to start leaking just sitting there but it looks like I'll be
changing back to a regular compression fitting unless anyone has other
suggestions.
