enjoy flying & camping, flying into small, rough strips with lots of
gear, then the Rebel's for you !!
Well, these are the things that have drawn me to the Rebel, also I am
interested in a high wing for easier entry / exit and better ground
visibility while flying around. Weight is also an issue as I am 250lbs and
want to be able to carry a passenger and some gear.
You have your choice of MANY different engines,
as well, and don't have to choose until your Rebel is completed right
up to the front door .. leaving lots of time to shop.
Thus far I am thinking of either the 235, or 0-320 for power options. I
have been cruising the archives to "catch up" a bit and it still isn't
clear to me what the difference is between the Rebel and the Elite? I am
interested in a Tail Dragger with 0-320 (most likely) with float attach,
but no floats initially, Spring gear???? The only thing I get from the
factory specs is a higher gross weight, however that was brought into
question in the archives as not much of an issue as the elite was heavier.
Was the design principle just to add tri gear, or what?
If you DO decide on a Rebel, there is LOTS of experienced
help available here on the list !!
Of course that is very evident and I am greatfull. Thanks for the advise
and info.

Andy,

You're right, again ! The <original> design objective was to build
a Rebel with tricycle gear, as many people had asked for this feature.
Other features were added as the design moved to reality ...

Spring gear is an option on the Rebel, as are the higher
instrument panel, heavier leading edge, separate flaps, etc. that are
standard on the Elite.
