Rebel Lite / OSH

Well, looks like several of us interested in building a Rebel Lite (US
LSA, etc.) will be at Oshkosh. Let's attempt to meet at 10:30 AM on
Tuesday July 24th at the Murphy booth, currently listed as #446-47 --
but double check that when you're on site. We can try to find some
nearby shade, or an empty workshop pavilion, or maybe even hijack Tim
Hickey's car (with Tim, of course) to a nearby coffee house. :-) If that
schedule won't work, let me know, and if need be, we'll try another.

It would be most helpful if ANY builders who already have experience
with the lighter configurations (Rotax powered, for example) can join
and share their experience.

In addition to whatever you have in mind already, we might focus on
weight effects of things like --

1) engines, props & gear...
2) common mods...
3) avionics, seats, shoulder harnesses...
4) control options, electric flaperons...

... and a gazillion other things.

You might want to review Daryl Murphy's excellent Jan. '07 memo about
firewall mods and CG issues for O-320 powered Rebels, from which we can
extrapolate quite a bit that's relevant to lighter configurations. We'll
take notes for those who can't make it.

I'll be leaving home this Tuesday (7/10) and hopefully arriving at OSH
in Garry Wright's C-FOKM with all the Ramblers, whenever we get there,
and camping under the wing. I'll leave sometime Wednesday afternoon. I'm
looking forward to seeing everybody there, whatever your Rebellious
weight preference may be. My cell is 831-251-8412.
