Spring Gear Question

Hi guys,
Been a while since I've posted here. I'm making very slow progress but
hitting it a bit harder lately. I'm trying to get the fuselage on the
gear. I have the spring gear. Prudently reading ahead in the manual - it
seems - that the top SG-3 (the bar that the single 3/8" bolt goes through),
occupies the same space as the CC-42 bellcrank mount. Hence my confusion.
I thought I'd ask here how others have solved this.
