[rebel-builders] tires for rebel

A 600x6 is a pretty standard tire. Cessna, Piper and many other "Spam
cans" use them either 4 ply or 6 ply will work very well for your plane.
Any FBO should have them. Did you get a Aircraft Spruce outlet in
eastern Canada? UPS delivers almost any ware in a few days. Do you
suffer an import penalty as implied in your or is that a monies exchange
rate?
We Californians often buy from Chief in Oregon & beat the sales tax,
Tires start at $32.00 in your size.

Hope this can ease the pain a bit!

There has been a fair bit of discussion in the archives on tires for the
rebel but none very recently. My McCreary's are getting pretty weary and
I should replace them soon. My wheels are the old gold matco wheels with
center reinforcement both sides.
The McCreary numbers are 6.00-6 4 ply which are available fairly widely
with one tube and one tire costing about $67US plus shipping plus
exchange which at ACS is currently outrageous at about 25% (C$=$0.94US
right now). Canadians should be demanding better from the Canadian
outlets. This seems to apply to everything from tires to BBQ's. (rant
off)
Others have used non-aviation tires. What experience is out there now on
what is available? What brands, availability etc.
