I have vans 320 baffle kit on my rebel, went on pretty quick, does require
some mods, but sure saved a lot of research time and effort, overall worth
the money I would say

Mostly trimming, some stiffeners, some patches for mistakes, the usual

I have always made my own with the rule of 2 square inches of leakage but
this takes time and now money for my people who want me to finish their
project. It works really good and haven't ever seen a cylinder temp above
320*F yet. Thought the kit would save them some money but I don't have any
experience with their the product.

Other than trimming the top and front, what other mods are there to do with
the kit? Just flattened my left thumb with a hammer and this is taking me
for ever with one hand and the other in ice water!

Hi Steve !

Several builders have used the Van's baffle kits - they are very
nicely finished, and fit well. Need only a bit of trimming, and well
worth the money.

You are right that the bottom of the cowl should be lowered
to at least 2 or 3"+ below the bottom of the fuse, and extended
rearward at least a couple of inches, to get good extraction. Also
a good idea to add a piece of aluminum wrapped over the bottom
lip of the firewall to round it & smooth airflow....
(metal body filler tape will work if there's no room for sheet)

All Van's round the bottom lip - it gives them about 8 mph
increased cruise .... just helps cooling on the Rebel ...

Hi Bob I ordered the BAF-6-320 at the online store without talking to
anyone so I don't know what the differences are or if the other one would
fit better. My thought was that an rv6 cowl looks more like a rebel than
an
rv4 does.
