254R moves north

We finally completed moving ourselves and 254R from California to our
new home at WA59 outside Sequim, WA. The fuse and wings went first, on a
8.5' X 16' flatbed trailer, where the vulnerable trailing edges had to
be loaded up overlapping each other on the trailer. Loading and packing
the wings and fuse took the better part of two days. Driving very
slowly, the trailer trip took two days, with only short naps at rest
stops so I could stay close to the load. On the way there was a lot of
interest from onlookers, resulting in enjoyable conversations with
curious pilots and others at almost every stop. There were anxious
moments when the wings were unwrapped at the end of the trip but
happily, everything, including the trailing edges, made it without a
single ding. No collisions, no hail. Hurray! The other parts and tools
went in a second trip in a Penske truck. All our household stuff was
left for a third trip in a moving van. From the order of things, you may
be able to deduce my priorities! :-)

I've finally got the new hangar/shop set up, and am eager to get back to
building, after a four month interruption for the move. It's great to
have the project 40 yards away, instead of 40 miles.
