Has any one tried to put stainless brakes on there floats to get away from
the corrosion?
I leave mine in the water and they corrode farley rapidly.
I ordered the ones from spruce but they were 3/8"thick.
does any one know a part # for standard size? or know if these work ok with
the spacer in the calliper?

The washers are simple but a bit time consuming to make manually
although much quicker if one purchased them from MAM to modify. I don't
think there is much discount for buying springs in quantity but there
are cheaper sources than the local supplier that I used. Or just supply
washers since the springs are a standard off the shelf part. The
washers are made from 1.5" diameter aluminum bar and they could all be
the same thickness (perhaps 0.225" under the spring) instead of using
two different thicknesses like I did.

Do your floats have a sacrificial anode on them like they should Cecil?
Howard's first set of floats did 7 seasons. I've yet to have to change the
brake pads and the discs are just fine on the Clevelands. Mine have done 2
summers and look like new.

To my surprise, the disks look to be aluminum on mine!

Yeah mine came that way too. It's paint or an electroplating process but
they're steel underneath once you use them. I've had no corrosion problems
though, just a light fuzz in the spring that burns off the first taxi.
