Moose: New tail doublers, access holes, etc

Post by Ted Waltman » Sun Feb 19, 2012 12:03 pm

There continue to be a number of design changes to strengthen the tail on
the Moose. I had severe cracking after a trip to Alaska on my FUS-358
leading to a factory service bulletin. Since then several builders have
added further doublers to the design. Even after installing the factory
tail upgrades, I still had kinks appear in FUS-422 (tail wrap). Dale Fultz
came up new tail brackets and a new stinger. I decided to add a series of
doublers to both strengthen the stinger stress points and add strength to
the bulkhead H attach structure.

I just uploaded 11 pictures to file area 107 - S/M - Fuselage showing:

- New access holes (1 new factory one & 1 new one I added)
- 3 new doublers for the external section of the tail
- New stiffeners for bulkhead H

Please email me if you have questions.
