Hi Ted: I am currently putting a Q.B. Moose together which only came with a
Super Rebel manual and the upgrade conversion manual .(such as it is) The
main upgrades I could see beneficial would be the improved larger landing
gear attach brackets, tailcone mods, outer bearing supports for the aileron
c'weights in the tip ribs, wing and stabilizer end rib doublers and
brackets. There is not much else outside of all the spar and skin doublers
that where required for the 3500 lb gross. I am sure Bob P could add to
this. It is unfortunate at this time that the Murphy web site no longer
lists the upgrades and service bulletins - I need to check a few more
myself. Bob J

A friend of mine is looking at possibly buying a Super Rebel [he's also
looking at a couple of Moose] that's currently for sale. I know the SR is
the same as a Moose-just fewer doublers and quite a few other structural
upgrades (I have the SR to Moose upgrade manual).

Since it's been a while since MAM sold the SR, does anyone have any info
they can email me, such as:

- Service bulletins specific to the SR (I know the ones out on
the
website for the Moose likely apply for the SR too, if it's a common part
that had a problem that is. However, the current website is missing some
service bulletins-not all are there for the Moose and surely there are
ones
missing from back when that applied to the SR before it became the Moose).

- Info, i.e. this issue or that issue that someone knows about
with
SR's that never made it to becoming an official service bulletin

- Is the SR gross weight 3,000 lbs?

Thank you,

Ted

I guess I should have stayed at it until I had all the SB/mods posted...
perhaps as you find them you can finish what I started.

[rebel-builders] Super Rebel stats / bulletins?

Hi Ted !

Can't help much on the bulletins - hope they dig them out
and make them available for the web site soon.

The SR does have a 3,000 lb gross.

One thing to look for is the thicker windshield - a few
early SRs had a thin windshield (1/8" ????) . All later ones
were thicker -- definitely desireable !

The Moose has longer gear legs - this really makes
landings easier. It's pretty hard to get a good 3 point
with a SR .... maybe larger tires (NOT the huge ones)
would help ...

If he can find a SR with the bucket seats instead of
the bench, it will be a lot more versatile. The Lyc O-540
with a 2 blade is a good match for the airplane - enjoyed that !

Would be good to do ALL of the Moose mods related
to control systems ..... and the tail beef-ups...

I don't have a true spec sheet, but what I recall is Vne is 167 mph. I'll
look around and see what I can find in my files. I am building a SR2500,
not a moose, so I need to know.
