The Murphy Builders Site

After listening to Gary Wolf at the builders meeting yesterday I took the
time to check out the www.RAA.ca site to find out more about ECATS. What I
read pissed me off enough that I sent this letter to Kevin and Gary.

I met Gary Wolf yesterday at a builders meeting and heard for the first
time about ECATS. I'm disapointed that there's nothing about it on COPA's
website and that you don't seem to be opposing these rules. Here's a copy
of my letter to Gary so you know what this members feelings are.

Gary Thank you for addressing the murphy builders meeting yesterday and
bringing the proposed ECATS rules to our attention. Where I fly and who I
fly with is none of transport Canada's bussiness. I have no desire to waste
my time filling out more forms so they can get stuffed into a box in a
basement somewhere. If TC wants to collect data they can use fuel sales as
a good indicator now that we can no longer burn car gas. If they care about
certain airports they can instal a counter on the taxiway to find the
number of movements. I can't imagine how any of this data could benifit GA
or make any improvements to safety. All it will do is add extra expense to
TC's budget and take people away from meaningfull work.
