Let the fun begin.

Hello, Group!
I have been trying for a week now to find time to get this message out. The
short version is that we (my brother, Mike, and I) have received our Rebel kit.
We got it last Thursday, and have been very busy looking at and for parts so
we could complete the inventory. We have now done so, and have started on
making flaps and ailerons.
I need to mention that I am impressed by the quality of the parts. Most
everything we looked at seemed well made and properly done. I guess the
real test will be how all the parts fit together. I was also impressed by the
nice job that the guys packing the crate did. Everything was well protected
and organized. I suspect that they have done the packing before.
I still don't quite understand why it took 19 weeks to receive the kit, but that
was not really a factor to me because I have been up to my eyebrows (and I
am 6' 4") in trying to finish up my current house building project. As you might
guess, I didn't get everything done as I wanted, but we got carpet down last
month, and that makes everything a lot nicer.
Be forewarned everyone, I soon will be begging for tips and clues as this
project goes forward. In return, I will be offering advice to others as my
experience grows. I may also get on some nerves as I seek understanding of
some of the problems that I will run into. But be assured that we are of good
spirits and have a standing offer to trade beer for correct answers.
That is it for now. Typing is a little bit of a chore tonight as I .... ahem.... ran
a #40 drill bit under my fingernail today.
I know, I know. I won't do it again. I promise. Now, where is that little
wood block.......
