Hi Keith !

One way this problem has been handled is to extend the T
tube down, to allow the drain fitting to be attached to the skin.
This allows the drain fitting to extend outside, where it is
easily accessible --- and, unfortunately exposed to possible
breakage .... Choose the push-up-and-lock type of fitting,
or, better yet, the almost-flush tank drain fittings that
Cessna uses - they are much safer, and a bit harder for
someone to drain fuel on you.
