[rebel-builders] Rebel - Fuel tank covers

Post by Bob Patterson » Sun Feb 19, 2012 11:52 am

Hi Charlie !

You're right - you will want to add the extra row of holes for
attachment of the wing skin, outboard of your new end rib
position - #2 . You can then trim the tank skin down to the
smaller size - and save some weight ! :-)
This would mean cutting less of the wing skin away ...
and filling those extra skin holes with rivets later, I guess ...

Hello All

I plan to certify my Rebel at 1320 Lbs. so I will only be using two tank
bays (15 Gal's) per side. I am getting ready to transfer the holes to the
tank covers from the wing skins which are pre-drilled to use all three tank
bays. I assume the preferred procedure would be to use the full size tank
covers and duplicate the two extra rows of holes at the tanks outboard rib
