fibreglass over masking tape?

Guys,

Can you fibreglass over masking tape without any
implications for releasing the glassed part? I noticed
on www.goflyamoose.com (windows section) that Scott
had used masking tape where the window meets the
fuselage and then masked off the rest of the cabin
with wax paper.
