Yes Jean and actually will be stronger when bent 90 degrees to the grain
direction. The ST-31's are done that way for convenience to get 6' lengths.

Older kits only had 3 lengths of ST-28's and they are the stab and fin
spars. There was never any supplied to do the fuselage except the one piece
to do the middle/double seat belt attach channel.

One of the Ontario mod is to replace ST-31 by ST-28 for the door frame...
If I do it that way, I will be short of ST-28 later and I will have a
overstock of ST-31. Like I told before, I will make doubler out of .020"
scrap material and double those sill. My question:

The "grain of the aluminium" in ST-31 is longitudinal, but if I use the
"scrap" I have the grain of the doublers will be "in the other way"...
Because it is just a doubler, is it OK?

Another question:

As I see, those sill made of ST-31 are parts that I will "see" from the inside. So If one day in the future, I want to put a "finish" (carpet,
rubber, etc.) I should rivet the ST-31 wiht the doubler with flush rivets...?

Jean again...
