Help: Girl Guides

This message has nothing to do with the Murphy planes.. But I figured
the group here would be the ones to ask..

I am going to be giving a small talk on aviation to a group of about 30
Girl Guides (Ages 9-11) next week.. Then taking them for a walk around
the local airport the following week so they can actually see some
planes close up. I won't be taking them flying.

Does anyone know any little lessons, games, etc. that might be useful?

They need to learn things like:
Parts of an aircraft (Rudder, flaps, wheels, propeller, etc...)
What makes an airplane fly?
Why do airplanes land into the wind?
What happens in the control tower?

Of course this all has to be greatly simplified, and made interesting
enough to hold the attention of a 9-11 year old.

This is for them all to earn their Aviation Badge.

Thanks!
Dave

David, the Young Eagle Progams folder that each kid gets, has a page that
shows all the different parts of the plane etc. Also (in very simple terms)
tells how they fly and the forces of flight! If you are not able to get your
hands on an original immediately, I can fax the page to you if you send fax
#.

Dave,

Contact EAA Headquarters in Oshkosh. They run a week's worth of
activities for different age groups at Sun N Fun and Oshkosh. I'm sure
they can give you some ideas.
