Here is some interesting reading on VGs.

I use the landshorter.com (Harrison Designs) on my Rebel, and they lowered
my stall speed by about 10 mph, which surprised the heck out of me when I
did my first stall with them. No adverse handling effects and no change in
cruise speed. I didn't need them anywhere on the tail. I positioned mine at
10% chord and spaced them 3 inches apart.

On floats they did add more drag on my take-off (more lift = more drag, I
guess) if I started off with full flaps. As a result, I had to modify my
take-off technique to start with no flaps and then add full flaps after
building up some speed on the step, and then it pops right up.

I think an 0360 would help overcome that take-off drag, and could probably
utilize more float angle, too, with the VGs, to help further with the float
take-offs.

And not that a stock 0320 Rebel is any slouch on floats. But if you want the
ultimate...

if you want the ultimate Walter why not an 0-400 it weighs the same so
there's no reason not to. you like altitude so maybe a turbine would be a
better choice. ;o)
