We'll see how much time I have in the spring before heading North for the
"summer". I already have a full fuselage build documented with about 280
pictures, but feel it needs much more detail to be useful. Taking care of
those shots in this winters fuselage build that I'm doing for a West Coast
fella. On this one I already have 170 pictures from just the
tailcone...pre
Fus-30 install even. If I can remember to keep shooting while the build
progresses it should be a good CD.

Post by Wayne G. O'Shea » Sun Feb 19, 2012 11:38 am

See what you started Dale!

Let's not put the cart before the horse just yet....but good to see there is
some interest to take the idea forward.

Didn't get as many buyers as I would have liked, to even start to break
even, on the float CD however........so it will take some deep thought when
the time comes to do the fuselage CD.

[rebel-builders] Rebel Fuselage CD

Post by John Kramer » Sun Feb 19, 2012 11:38 am

Wayne,

We only have one legal sea plane base in the entire State of Missouri
so the float CD didn't seem wholly relevant to me. I'd LOVE a
fuselage &/or wing CD. I'll even buy the float CD if it makes a
difference getting the fuselage CD made.

Wayne G. O'Shea

[rebel-builders] Rebel Fuselage CD

Post by Wayne G. O'Shea » Sun Feb 19, 2012 11:38 am

Thanks John...I am keeping track of #'s interested. One issue I may be up
against is interior completion, as I'm just doing the main hull on gear
without the inner floors/controls/etc completed. I know I can dig up a lot
of things from my picture files like windshield install, probably inner
floor from my film photos to scan, etc. We'll see how it goes.

As for the lack of float bases and such...this is where I always razz the
guys on Supercubs.org. USA with all it's freedoms and
rights...speech..firearms..etc. but when it comes to aviation you guys
really suck the hind..... compared to Canada. Some states U can't land in
ANY lake. Every county gets to approve or disapproved of having your own
airstrip in your yard..etc...etc. We can land just about anywhere on
floats.....except the navigatable channels of the Rideau and Trent systems
and inside the Provincial park boundaries unless PPR has been obtained.
Other than that, and it took me some huge hassles and frazzled nerves to
learn this phrase.... "The provinces and their counties/municipalities have
no constitutional power to asses any planning power on an aerodrome". That
said you can put a runway anywhere in Canada provided it is not inside the
built up area of a town or city (Federal directive)..... without anyone's
blessing.

Wayne

See what you started Dale!

Let's not put the cart before the horse just yet....but good to see there is
some interest to take the idea forward.

Didn't get as many buyers as I would have liked, to even start to break
even, on the float CD however........so it will take some deep thought when
the time comes to do the fuselage CD.

We'll see how much time I have in the spring before heading North for
the "summer". I already have a full fuselage build documented with about
280 pictures, but feel it needs much more detail to be useful. Taking
care of those shots in this winters fuselage build that I'm doing for a
West Coast fella. On this one I already have 170 pictures from just the
tailcone...pre Fus-30 install even. If I can remember to keep shooting
while the build progresses it should be a good CD.

Yep Mike and I hear a DC-4 did just that yesterday! Expensive way to harvest
a 1000 feet by 120 of forest though! ;O) Glad both lads walked away.

[rebel-builders] Rebel Fuselage CD

Post by Keith Leitch » Sun Feb 19, 2012 11:38 am

About the only state that you can land MOST places is
Minnesota. Luckily that is where I will be resideing
when my wife retires from the Army.
Anyways...you can probably count me in on a CD also.
As long as that type of media is still in use when I
get that far. LOL. I'm still working on the wings and
I think I spend 90% of my time trying to figure out
the manual. And I still seem to screw up.

Thanks John...I am keeping track of #'s interested.
One issue I may be up
against is interior completion, as I'm just doing
the main hull on gear
without the inner floors/controls/etc completed. I
know I can dig up a lot
of things from my picture files like windshield
install, probably inner
floor from my film photos to scan, etc. We'll see
how it goes.

As for the lack of float bases and such...this is
where I always razz the
guys on Supercubs.org. USA with all it's freedoms
and
rights...speech..firearms..etc. but when it comes to
aviation you guys
really suck the hind..... compared to Canada. Some
states U can't land in
ANY lake. Every county gets to approve or
disapproved of having your own
airstrip in your yard..etc...etc. We can land just
about anywhere on
floats.....except the navigatable channels of the
Rideau and Trent systems
and inside the Provincial park boundaries unless PPR
has been obtained.
Other than that, and it took me some huge hassles
and frazzled nerves to
learn this phrase.... "The provinces and their
counties/municipalities have
no constitutional power to asses any planning power
on an aerodrome". That
said you can put a runway anywhere in Canada
provided it is not inside the
built up area of a town or city (Federal
directive)..... without anyone's
blessing.

Wayne,

We only have one legal sea plane base in the
entire State of Missouri
so the float CD didn't seem wholly relevant to me.
I'd LOVE a
fuselage &/or wing CD. I'll even buy the float CD
if it makes a
difference getting the fuselage CD made.
