A few questions

1. A friend has suggested using the Cross Flow Subaru conversion instead of
the Lycoming O-235. Can anyone give me an idea as to how good this is and
where one can get information on weights, performance, durability,
serviceability etc other than from CROSSFLOW so I can talk to them
intelligently. I have been told the engine is "bullet proof" and it is well
designed and comes in many power ranges!! I am not interested in re-inventing
any wheels with this airplane.

2. I am currently working on the ailerons. I started the first drilled holes
this past Sunday!!! The drawing calls for 3 hinges? My question is how do you
install the two ailerons onto the center hinge once the fabric is in place?
Unfortunately in my late night perusals of the drawings and manual, this was
not readily apparent.

3. Hope to see y'all on 13 May. Bob, what time is the meeting?

Thanks

Mike Le Ber R683

A few questions

The Subarus are certainly a viable choice ! I've flown a few, and
they are quiet, smooth, and burn less fuel than the Lycosaurus. You
will end up with more power than the O-235, no matter which Legacy
engine version you choose. They are slightly heavier than the O-320,
however...

There is a bolt that acts as the center hinge - and inspection holes
in the aileron covering to get at it ... One look at the airplane will
clear this up ! :-)

May 13th - Saturday ! meeting will start at 1 pm, as usual (more
or less). ========

See you there !!
