hi all just a little information update re; wingtips
last week I removed my stock MAM round tips and replaced them with Fife
tips
that I got from Jim Cole
I am very pleased (I had the benifit of checking speeds just before the
change, so the info is relatively accurate and at the same outside
temperature)
stall speed dropped from 50 mph to 47 at slow flight attitude and cruise
at
2400 increased from 108 to 111mph using the gps two directions parallel
to
the runway
climb is more difficult to determine because it is so weight sensitive but
I
was seeing 1800fpm steady
control near the ground is excellent
So that 2 extra ft of wing certainly has some effect bob fisher
rebel 342 on wheels at this moment
