Ralph,
I uploaded a picture to Elite 314 E-electrical systems,
https://www.dcsol.com/code/html-list+fi ... y&area=314
of my installation. Just a hole with a grommet. A little spiral wrap on wire
outer casing. I don't remember how much I opened up that area but had to
make some clearance for hinge bolt access and wire. Hope this helps.

Anyone have a good solution to bringing the Elite trim wiring from inside
the front "D" section of the elevator to the center and up past the
stabilizer rear edge inside the fin / stabilizer fairing? My best so far
is to file out a clearance in both elevator and stabilizer at top to
eliminate a shearing action on the wire as full up elevator is approached.
The clearance filing would be just to left of center hinge.
Thanks,
Ralph Baker

I can't remember the details, but I took mine under the stab and tied it
off to the stab attach brackets. I arranged things so it didn't chafe
on anything, and as someone else said, just a grommet at the elevator
LE. I used a DB9 connector to take the wires through the bulkhead ahead
of the stab. You really need that to facilitate later removal of the
stab. Let me repeat, use captive nuts to secure the rear brackets, and
have them removed when you install the stab. Otherwise, the stab is
just about sure to get scratched.

I had a hard time finding any long thin wall al. tubing and ended up getting some of that plastic corugated wire loom tubing like automobiles have. It was very cheap (like me). I think I got 3-25ft. rolls for around $10.00. I picked it up while at Oshkosh from a vendor in the Fly-mart.The stuff weighs next to nothing and I plan on either mounting it adel clamps or tie wraps.
here is a site that depicts what I am refering to. http://www.wiringproducts.com/contents/en-us/d229.html

Flex,
It is probably overkill but I ran a piece of thin wall Al tubing from elevator front prar to the rear, 90 degree sweep, and into servo area.

Hi Flex
I went for option 2, and did it after the elevator was fitted to the stab.
I put a molex connector in the loom to disconnect it under the stab to
remove the elevator when needed, and the wiring is inside a flexible conduit
to prevent chafing as it leaves the elevator and goes under the stab.
Works fine so far (in the garden :-)

Elite builders,

Getting ready to close up my elevator, but trying to decide how to run the
wire for the electric trim through the elevator.

Option1- I have grommets that fit the tooling holes in the eleavor ribs.
Then
all I'd have to do is drill one hole in the vicinity of the elevator control
horn
and put a grommet there for the wire to exit the elevator. This seems a
little
cleaner method, but access to wiring later would be impossible.

Option2- Drill a single hole through the spar in front of the trim servo,
put in a
grommet, wrap the wire, then run through the "D" cell. This would be much
easier to replace/re-wire later if required.

The manual says the wires will be routed after the elevator is fitted to the

fuselage, but that sounds like something that should be done before the
elevator is closed. Sorry if this question has been beat to death at an
earlier
date, but I couldn't find anything in the archives.

Thanks!
~Flex
