Shear web hole flanging

Hi all,

If you notice in the SR/Moose fuselage kit, the shear webs (FUS 320,323,324) ,between the floor and the outer belly skin, have 2" lightening holes which are unflanged. By forming a flange on these holes, stiffness can be increased by approx. 30 per cent, without any weight increase. A friend made me a die set out of a hard aluminum alloy to form a flange on the holes--amazing to notice the stiffness increase.I don't know why MAM doesn't form flanges on these parts, it 's so easy to do with the punching operation. I notice the Vans people do this on their parts.
If anyone is interested, I have uploaded 3 photos in the SR Moose section of the archives in 107 S/M Fuselage. I can also loan out the die set for the cost of shipping ,which runs about $5.00US in continental US, each way.
