The Murphy instructions state that the piece that holds the windshield in

piece on the bottom and both sides. The guy who was working on mine
before I bought it made one out of fiberglass on the bottom and then an
aluminum piece on each side?

Do you guys see any problems with this? The pieces are only clecoed in
place right now, so they are easy to replace if necessary.
I used aluminum on the sides without any problems. So have many others.

I just laid up the bottom in fiberglass and then used the aluminum strips on
the sides. My kit came with the material even though it never called out
using it. I bolted them with some small machine screws and locknuts.

The entire installation is in the Rebel - Fuselage section thanks to Roger
since mine were wiped back when.

What i see missing in your picture is the lack of either the float fix
bulletin or my original fix of swapping out the top 5 rivets for RV1613's
and doubling up the rivet pitch for the remainder of the front door post.
