[rebel-builders] fuselage cone... inner floor/drain holes

I have been thinking about where to drill some drain holes, but there are so
many channels and bulkheads across the floor it would look like Swiss cheese
if I drill in front of every one. And then when I'm on floats I would need
holes on the rear side of each cross member because the water would want to
run forward. Does it make more sense to wait untill it's built and see where
the water collects? Then again how do you know if you can't see inside
anymore?

Yup rivets are cheap, quick, and don't fall out.
Some inspectors apparently like to see water drain holes and some 1/8"
holes are a good idea. A surprising amount of water comes out of some
cessna's when you poke something into those drain holes to unplug the
accumulated dirt.
I primed before closing the tailcone floor as well and I didn't worry
about holes in the channels back there. However I did put some 3/4"
holes in some of the channels farther forward where I added a bunch of
extra channels and wanted a bit more ventilation.

Hello!

I am doing the floor channel of the fuselage cone.... When the floor
skin will be fix, the "boxes" will be good trap for humidity!?! Should
I
make some holes in the channels to let the air circulate? The manual
ask for riveted floor skin... is it ok or is it better to use screw with
tinnerman?

[rebel-builders] fuselage cone... inner floor/drain holes

There is a bit of room for water to flow side to side between each floor
channel so I put one hole near the middle rear of each bay as it was on
wheels for the inspection. I figure I will have to drill on the forward
side of each bay of the aft tailcone when it goes on floats but you are
correct that I probably should have also drilled those before painting.
