The Murphy Builders Site

Greetings folks,

I am now learning how to fiberglass. I will soon take
on the glassing of my windshield retainer. From
studying some of the pics on other builders websites,
most seem to have a nice smooth finish (light blue in
color). Is this just the epoxy resin sanded down, or
is there some sort of final top coat that you apply
that gives the smooth finish surface?

That is a high build primer surfacer for fiberglass. You spray on a couple
coats and then wet sand it smooth, repeat as necessary.

Before the primer I used Polyfiber "SuperFil" light weight epoxy filler
(same stuff I filled my rivet heads with) that is the blue stuff on mine
