[rebel-builders] FOKM corner wraps

Anything that came off was fus70. I don't know if every wrap on the
plane is the heavier type but the three I replaced were. BTW, the fus30
tailwrap was 0.032 but just wasn't doubled. There is evidence that the
tail section was upgraded by someone somewhere along the line. It has
several mods that were not present in the original but not the fus89's
or the tailwrap doubler - yet. The damage from last summer's incident
was fixed (except for the floats) by November and I put quite a few
hours on the plane since then.

Garry,
Looking at the pictures from the float smackdown I was wondering if you took
note of the thickness of some of the corner wraps that were damaged or
otherwise replaced? It is pretty evident that the forward cabin section took
the worst beating. The lower right wrap was toast. The bottom rear wraps
look like they came out OK though. Do you know if those were original .020
fus-10s, or upgraded to .025 fus-70s?
Thanks
Jesse

Thanks Garry,

Which three did you replace? Were they all forward ones? I'm still trying to
decide weather to upgrade all 8, or 6 or just 4. Wayne says 4 Bob says 8.

Bottom left, both right - forward of the leading edge of course. I'm
confident that the rear ones have not been changed in FOKM. Wayne did
any upgrades that were done - at least between about 1998 and 2004. She
was built in the factory in 1992.

[rebel-builders] FOKM corner wraps

Thanks Garry,
That's good info because Wayne only advocates upgrading the top rear and
bottom forward ones, so if your bottom rear ones stood up to that pounding,
and are original thickness then that is probably not a weak spot...on floats
anyway. Wheels may be different. Anyway, thanks again.
